Performance FAQs One of the highlights of being a part of Kaleidoscope Dance is participation in our yearend performance at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts. We provide students with an exciting performance experience and a chance to show off a year's worth of hard work, dedication and progress in front of family and friends. Why participate in the year-end performance? It builds self-esteem and confidence that translates in all of your child's future endeavors A wonderful opportunity for your child's personal growth and dance education We put on a professional performance at North Shore Performing Arts Center that includes a professional lighting designer and complimentary DVD for each dancer Our dance performances are an entertaining and enjoyable event for parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors! Kaleidoscope Dance makes it easy for parents! We do not mark up the price of performance costumes.  Accessories and tights are included in the costume fee There is no participation fee to be a part of the performance. There are 3 performances which helps to minimize the length of each performance and lets you enjoy the rest of your day! All youth dancers only perform in one performance and have one dress rehearsal Kaleidoscope Staff is backstage at all times to take excellent care of your dancer.  Parents are never asked to volunteer backstage so that they can enjoy watching their dancer shine! Every dancer receives a link to an online copy of the performance, which can also be downloaded, and is recorded by Emmy-award winning multimedia company, HMS Media Performance Testmonials "Fantastic show today. You have once again provided these performers with the skills needed to put on such a wonderful show. My Isabella was so proud of herself and every year she is so excited to come back and every weekend is so exciting when she goes to class. I am so glad to have my child be part of such a wonderful studio with excellent teachers who are patient and wonderful dancers themselves. Thank you for another wonderful year on behalf of Isabella "  - Ilana "Thanks so much for your fabulous organization! Everything from my parental perspective went incredibly well. So much fun!" - Gina "Fabulous show! Thanks Heather and everyone at Kaleidoscope for bringing dance into the lives of our children!" - Linda "Thank you for making it such a great show. I could not imagine a more perfect Mother's Day gift." - Debbie "As a long distance Grandparent, from Ontario, I am always thrilled to be able to watch our granddaughter in practices ,and then, each year on Mothers' Day, when the school presents its production. Over six years I have been thrilled to see how the teachers bring out the best in each dancer and help them achieve confidence to reach their individual potential. The routines are always demanding, but achievable ,and the accompanying music is outstanding. The dancers are poised and well prepared and the Kaleidoscope teachers deserve so much credit. We find the production is well paced and varied and send congratulations on such excellent results!"
1 st  Time Performance Parents We understand how exciting your dancer’s first performance can be and also how anxious you can be about leaving your child backstage in a new environment without you. Rest assured, Kaleidoscope has you covered. Owner Heather Jackson has been producing children's shows for over 16 years. We are very familiar with the theater and have been using North Shore Center for the Performing Arts for 12 years The Kaleidoscope Staff makes each dancer feel at ease and comfortable backstage We have a full staff backstage to assist with all your child's needs, including bathroom breaks We keep our youngest dancers separate from our older dancers and dancers are supervised at all times All dancers watch a movie, such as Cinderella, that keeps them busy and happy during their brief down time. We also sing and play games to keep your little one entertained! At dress rehearsal, and in class leading up to the performance, we explain to performers that mommy and daddy will be in the audience and they will be backstage At dress rehearsal they meet all Kaleidoscope staff, NSCPA staff and our lighting designer, who all help them shine on stage! Younger dancers participate in one outside dress rehearsal and one performance so that their waiting time backstage is short, enjoyable and fun!
